The Diaconate Board is made up of twelve members who serve three-year terms.  Individuals are allowed to serve two sessions for a total of up to six years.  Deacons have been members of the congregation for at least three years before they can serve.  The Deacons are responsible for the church service and support the pastor in all matters pertaining to the Sunday service.  Their duties include coordination of ushers, setting up and taking down holiday decorations, and assisting with special services like Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve.  They also line up our weekly liturgist and coffee hour host, keeping coffee hour stocked, set up and serve communion, and host our Meet & Greet for new perspective members as well as the Pineapple Welcome.  The Deacons meet once a month on the second Thursday at 7:00 p.m.  The current chair is John Plourde.
